October Adopt-A-Highway Program
Want to help clean up the environment while getting some exercise and fresh air at the same time? Consider participating in the Adopt-A-Highway Program supported by your Central Illinois CPCU chapter.
The Good Works Committee is currently seeking volunteers to clear trash along Towanda-Barnes Road from Rt. 9 (Empire St.) to Ireland Grove Road on Bloomington's east side. The road construction in the area should be coming to a close this week, and we’re anxious to get started!
Our 2014 schedule is as follows (weather permitting):
Saturday, July 19th 9 – 11 AM
Saturday, August 23rd 9 – 11 AM
Saturday, October 18th 9 – 11 AM
All Central Illinois CPCU chapter members are eligible to participate, along with any family, friends, and co-workers you may recruit. The only requirements are that each member of the clean-up crew be at least 11 years old (or in the 6th grade) and have a completed waiver form on file with the McLean County Highway Department prior to participation.
To sign-up or obtain further information, please contact event coordinator Karyn Therman. Additional details will be sent to the crew members prior to each clean-up session. Not sure of your schedule? Just indicate a general interest and you will be contacted closer to the event date to confirm availability.
Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity.
