10/16/21 8:00am to 10:00am

CPCU Volunteer Request for Adopt-A-Highway 2021

Our Good Works Committee is seeking Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) Program volunteers to clear trash along Towanda-Barnes Road from Rt. 9 (Empire St.) to Ireland Grove Road on Bloomington's east side. This is our 2-mile stretch of road sponsored by our Central Illinois CPCU chapter.

There are so many benefits with our involvement in AAH – a cleaner roadway, better impression of Bloomington by visitors, removal of hazards (for animals, the environment, & drivers), and opportunity to make a difference to our community through your volunteerism.  Volunteers are also appreciated with the incentive of a gift card from a local business.

All Central Illinois CPCU chapter members are eligible to participate, along with any family, friends, and co-workers you may recruit. The only requirements are that each member of the clean-up crew be at least 11 years old (or in the 6th grade) and have a completed waiver form on file with the McLean County Highway Department prior to participation.

Here is our planned 2021 pick-up dates (weather permitting):

  • Saturday, October 16; 8-10am

To sign-up or obtain further information, please contact event coordinator Dan Blodgett (dan.blodgett.cqsx@statefarm.com). Additional details will be sent to the crew members prior to each clean-up session. If you are not sure of your schedule, please indicate a general interest and you will be contacted closer to the event date to confirm availability.

Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity for the Good Works Committee!
